Meet Tasia

I am Tasia Hawkins, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and owner of Truth Heals Counseling, PLLC. I founded Truth Heals Counseling in 2020 during the pandemic—a time that uncovered deep truths both globally and personally. During that period, I felt a clear spiritual calling to step into private practice and create a space rooted in honesty, healing, and emotional connection.

Prior to establishing my practice, I worked as a school counselor in the Wake County Public School System and as a therapist in a community mental health setting. The name Truth Heals was created alongside my late husband, David, and reflects my core values of truth, transparency, accountability, and communication. It is a reframe of the phrase "truth hurts," grounded in the belief that truth, when held with care, is what allows us to heal.

I support individuals in reconnecting with their authentic selves and building a healthier relationship with their emotions. I work with adolescents, teens, adults, and couples who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck—often navigating anxiety, grief, and the pressure to hold everything together while silently struggling. Many of my clients have learned to suppress their emotions as a way to cope. In our work together, we create space for those emotions to be explored, understood, and honored. My approach to therapy is trauma-informed and grounded in a holistic view of healing. I believe that emotions are not problems to fix, but signals that deserve attention and care. In our work together, we slow down, explore your internal world, and make room for your truth to emerge in a way that feels safe and empowering. When appropriate, I integrate mindfulness and body-based practices to support the connection between mind and body.

I hold a Master of Counseling degree from NC State University and have experience supporting clients through anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, grief, and life transitions.

At the core of my work is the belief that healing happens when we are honest with ourselves—and when we are given the space to be fully seen without judgment. If you are ready to explore your truth and move toward a more grounded and authentic way of living, I welcome you to begin that process here.
