About Us..
Truth Heals Counseling, PLLC empowers our clients to reconnect with their authentic selves by creating a courageous, culturally responsive space where truth can be explored, emotions can be honored, and healing can unfold through both clinical and holistic approaches.
The Owner
I am Tasia Hawkins, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and owner of Truth Heals Counseling, PLLC. I founded Truth Heals Counseling in 2020 during the pandemic—a time that uncovered deep truths both globally and personally. During that period, I felt a clear spiritual calling to step into private practice and create a space rooted in honesty, healing, and emotional connection.
Prior to establishing my practice, I worked as a school counselor in the Wake County Public School System and as a therapist in a community mental health setting. The name Truth Heals was created alongside my late husband, David, and reflects my core values of truth, transparency, accountability, and communication. It is a reframe of the phrase “truth hurts,” grounded in the belief that truth, when held with care, is what allows us to heal.

Our Vision
We envision a world where our clients feel safe in their bodies to experience and express their full emotional truth, free from societal, cultural, and systemic pressures that have historically encouraged suppression. In this world, our clients break cycles of disconnection and survival-based living, and instead move toward clarity, authenticity, and inner peace—where healing becomes not only a personal journey, but an act of collective liberation.

Our Core Values
Holistic Healing
We integrate mind, body, and energy—honoring both clinical approaches and practices like breathwork, sound, and mindfulness.
Cultural Awareness & Systemic Understanding
We recognize that healing does not happen in a vacuum and honor the impact of cultural, societal, and systemic influences on mental health.
Client Empowerment
Clients are not broken—they are capable. We support them in accessing their inner wisdom and agency.
Safety & Trust
We cultivate a therapeutic space where clients feel seen, respected, and emotionally safe.
Truth-Telling
We believe healing begins with honesty—naming what is real, even when it is uncomfortable.
Emotional Permission
All emotions are welcome. We create space for clients to feel without judgment, urgency, or suppression.
Authenticity Over Perfection
We prioritize being real over being “right,” supporting clients in showing up as they are.
